So many people that are 'part of the herd' and don't pay enough attention to life to see whats going on right in front of them. So busy worrying about tomorrow and how much their little caged existance sucks, never realizing their true potential. I feel we all create our own perspective by either believing what we are told or finding out for ourselves whats real.

Focus on hate and you will find it, focus on love and you'll find that too. But if you focus on what is REAL and not what you were told is real then who knows what you'll find. Tis a journey very few take.
GOT GRIND?

Sorry, I just had to say it

I guess you agree with my point about the 'hate' part, but have expanded it a step further. I feel that I've realized much of my true potential in life, but I don't think I'm level 20 at it yet

As for road rage... I drive fast, and pass people with my little car, but I've never been mad or upset. If someone drives slow I just pass 'em or tail them till they move out of my way. Never been upset about it though ;-) I realize its life, and that sometimes you just have to give people a nudge or a few flasher to know to get out of my way as I'm speeding through it!

I have been taught at an early age to not hate and don't use that word lightly. By using terms such as dislike and replacing complaints with suggestions or using criticism in a constructive maner you get results vs. inflaming a potential argument. Of course the satisfaction is not instantaneous.
I get the intention of most people's threads here and it is sometimes sad. I can't resist but to make little suggestions or thoughts that may make sense to some.

I also drive fast at times, so when I say road rage I'm talking about hate again, not our driving habits. If you get cut off from a fast driver you might want to flip them off, so he then shoots you. The point is the same here. Hate...so be carefull

Oh, BTW there is no level cap on your true potential unless you have put one there.

There is no try, only "do" and "do not" Yoda said it best.

Yeah, perhaps if this was more toned towards "what do you feel needs improvement abou GW repetition" I'd me more likely to give constructive & intelligent answers. Rather then reading the subject and thinking "here is another whiner, lets all flame the crap out of him!" ;-)

Vote #1 Grind: Booting Windows and waiting for it to load before you can click guildwars.exe.

Group Forming Grind...
Honestly, there should be an option to drop comments about players behaviour just like on E-Bay. So whenever you form a group you can see the typical leaver moron who'll just leave when he gets his elite skill. Or the typical whiner who is constantly bitching around.

About the other grind:
I'd add the grind to read whiners about grind threads. People, open your eyes. There IS grind in Guildwars. While it is true you do not have to apply for it. You'll lack some in PvP and on top of that there really is NOTHING to do for a PvEer then to get the 15 k armor and hit Fissure or Underworld now and then. And i've been quite often in the fissure so far, often enough to consider going there grind. A grind that semi keeps me playing for it is one of the harder areas in the game.
ANd while there is not so much grind in guildwars as with other MMORPGs. The Grind in Guildwars is drop dead stone cold boring. Fact. I'm not having fun at all hitting the same mission again and again while i never had a problem visiting a dungeon again in any other given MMORPG.
So, guildwars might have fewer grind and whatever. But it has grind, and the grind is of the most boring way it can be.

I don't find there to be any grind in PvE as I just play the story line, go back to explore areas previously unexplored, help guildmates with quests and missions. Basically, I play at my pace and enjoy the time I am on.
Thats exactly what I used to say, but finishing the game 2x and opening every area. The only thing left is fussue of woe etc and being a european that isn't always an option.
All there is left is either start again, PvP or "grind" through the same areas again and again for xp to obtain another skill point so I can find another skill. Loot rushing has never been an interest of mine.
This is the only "grind" that I find in game, for PvP fans money and items may be a "grind", but for not myself.
I used to argue that there is no grind, well there isn't till you have finished the story and all the quest and explored all the maps. Which doesn't take as long as you may think. Then you are left with little to do, bar hunt for skills. items and PvP.

the ascension missions really frustrate me.

I've done them so many times but they all collectively add a lot of deaths to my characters >P

Although I did find a completely ridiculous gold sword in thirsty river ... my group died but hey.. I got a sword. -glee-

To really state a gripe in general it would definitely have to be when group members don't listen and run off into numerous mobs. That is crazy.

^_^ I am not really going to get too bent out of shape about any of it though :P I DO have a lot of fun so it's all good.

i'd like to see an option that allows people that completed the game once to skip the tutorial and get all the skills available there for the pri/sec classes and get right to ascalon with a lvl 7 char

Only one real grind exists in Guild Wars IMHO. Once you get items and skills, they're yours for good. Gold is needed to get these things oftentimes, but again, once you have what you want, life is good...

...until you encounter the REAL grind. That is, having to leave PvP with your developed character to return to the PvE farming fields you've already completed just so you can get 24 attribute refund points back when testing out innovative new PvP builds. There is no simple permanant solution as of yet despite repeated requests by many to refund all 24 points ONLY when in town.

Switching secondaries doesn't require a grinding exercise of getting 6,000 XP, no one is requesting for that freedom to end. Switching skills doesn't require grinding for 6,000 XP, and no one is asking for that freedom to end. But the essential, changable attribute stats that make your changed secondary and skill sets work is forced into 6,000 XP grind-a-thons everytime you have another new PvP build you wish to test.

Why do people accept that as normal? What is gained by its existance for fun gameplay? Most importantly, how does it affect anyone negatively in anyway if we all have 100% freedom to make our desired builds instead of the 66% freedom we have now?

It never ends no matter how many times you do it, unlike the other suggestions. It is a permanant waste of time to go back to unrelated PvE slaying. THAT is the only real grind that chaps my hide.
